Earlier this year, app developer Viet Tran ambitiously announced that his note taking app would be updated with some new features, including hand writing recognition by the end of July. That date passed and now, humbly, Viet has apologized.
However, he has promised to keep updates posted about the development of version 3.

The below screenshots alone make the update look like it will be worth the wait.
These shots appear to take inspiration from Courier, the not yet released Microsoft tablet that even had its own animated commercial.
It is not clear whether there will be a separate in app purchase for the hand writing recognition technology.
If you are a fan of Notes Plus, it looks like more good things will be coming soon.
