Broncos to Use Playbooks on iPads

Credit The Denver Post

Instead of 500 page play books being distributed every week for each of the 120 players, coaches and staff of the Denver Broncos, iPads will be used. The digital transition will allow the weekly game plan, scouting reports, video clips and other data to be immediately available on each iPad.

The irony is, the National Football League does not allow electronic devices such as tablets on the sidelines during games. The devices will be available in the locker room up to game time.

It is interesting that Blackberry did not try to market their PlayBook device to the NFL.

The costs savings are enough to get 120 iPads with Verizon Wireless 4G access with up to 64 GB.

In terms of safety, if an iPad is lost, the information can be remotely wiped.
