Apple has released version iOS 8.1.2. The update includes bug fixes and addresses a problem where ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store may have been removed from the device. To restore the ringtones go to this link. You can read more about the update at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT204076.
To update your iOS device, tap on settings, General > Software Update and then tap on Download and Install. As always, you should make a back up of your iOS device first and have Wi-Fi access.
